Career Opportunities

Thorne Research Corporation seeks individuals who are serious about science — not as an academic exercise, but as a means of achieving outcomes that matter. Our researchers, engineers, and analysts work at the leading edge of disciplines that most institutions do not yet have the infrastructure or the disposition to pursue. If you are prepared for that kind of work, we may be prepared for you.

TRC offers competitive compensation, access to proprietary instrumentation unavailable at any other private institution, and the opportunity to participate in programs whose full significance will not be apparent for some years. We do not promise recognition. We promise consequence. A detailed NDA will be required for all applicants.

Current Openings

Senior Researcher, Behavioral Conditioning Systems
Cognitive Digital Links Division  •  Port Calloway, WA  •  Full-Time

TRC seeks a Senior Researcher to lead experimental design and protocol development within the Behavioral Conditioning Systems unit of the Cognitive Digital Links division. The successful candidate will possess demonstrated experience in the neurological underpinnings of behavioral response, with particular expertise in stimulus-response mapping, conditioned behavioral reinforcement, and the relationship between cognitive state modification and observable behavioral output.

This role involves significant interaction with ongoing human-subject programs. Security clearance at Level C or higher is required; candidates without existing clearance will undergo a TRC-administered screening process whose scope is not disclosed in advance.

Minimum qualifications: Doctoral degree in neuroscience, cognitive science, or a closely related field. Minimum eight years of post-doctoral research experience. Demonstrated publication record in peer-reviewed venues (classified publications accepted). Existing clearance preferred.

Field Technician, Electromagnetic Resonance Division
Bio-Mechatronic Research  •  Multiple Locations  •  Full-Time

TRC seeks qualified Field Technicians to support the deployment, calibration, and ongoing maintenance of electromagnetic resonance equipment at field sites across the Pacific Northwest. Specific site locations are determined by active program needs and are communicated to selected candidates upon execution of a non-disclosure agreement. Field assignments require extended periods of on-site residency; the duration of individual assignments varies and is not determined in advance.

Field Technicians in this role work in proximity to active resonance arrays and in conditions that may involve prolonged exposure to non-ionizing electromagnetic fields within parameters established by TRC's internal standards. TRC's internal safety standards are developed by the company and are not subject to external review.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, applied physics, or equivalent technical training. Experience with high-power electromagnetic systems required. Candidates must be in good physical health, must consent to ongoing biological monitoring as a condition of employment, and must not have immediate family members employed in federal regulatory agencies.

Data Analyst, Primate Cognitive Integration Lab
Cognitive Digital Links Division  •  Port Calloway, WA  •  Full-Time

The Primate Cognitive Integration Lab seeks a Data Analyst to support the processing, interpretation, and archival of data generated by the division's active experimental programs. Candidates must be prepared to workwith datasets whose contents they will not be permitted to discuss, reproduce, or retain outside of TRC facilities.

This role requires facility with proprietary TRC data systems; training will be provided. External data tools and personal computing devices are not permitted in the laboratory environment. The successful candidate will be assigned a TRC workstation and will conduct all analytical work within TRC's internal network, which is not connected to the public Internet.

Minimum qualifications: Graduate degree in statistics, data science, mathematics, or a closely related field. Strong quantitative and pattern-recognition skills. Candidates must be comfortable with ambiguity regarding the source, subject matter, and ultimate application of the data they process.

Research Associate, Atmospheric Calibration Systems
Climate Enhancement Technologies  •  Port Calloway, WA  •  Full-Time

TRC seeks a Research Associate to support the Atmospheric Calibration Systems unit within the Climate Enhancement Technologies division. This position involves data collection, instrumentation support, and experimental documentation in support of active atmospheric monitoring and modulation programs.

The candidate will work under the direct supervision of a senior researcher and will not, in the initial period of employment, have access to the full scope of the programs they are supporting. Access is expanded on a schedule determined by the division head, based on performance and discretion criteria established internally.

Minimum qualifications: Graduate degree in atmospheric science, environmental science, physics, or equivalent. Experience with field instrumentation preferred. Candidates must be willing to work irregular hours, including overnight shifts, and to travel to remote monitoring sites on short notice.
